Hotel Confirmation
An official invitation or a copy of confirmed hotel reservation with applicants name listed. It must show that it has been paid in full.
If applicant is part of a tour, an invitation Letter for tourist Group issued by a Duly Authorized Tourism Unit may be submitted.
If applicant is staying with friends or family, an Invitation Letter issued by the inviter may be submitted as well as their Chinese ID’s are required.
Passport
Applicant must include their original, valid, signed passport and one photocopy of the information. It must be valid for 6 months beyond stay. There must be at least two blank passport pages available for the required Visa Stamp.
Photo Requirements
Applicant must submit (2) 2” x 2” passport photographs, front view, color with a plain white background. The photo should be recent and different from the photo used for your passport.

Visa Application
Below is the required Visa Application for the country of China. Applicants must completely fill out and sign this form using either blue or black ink. Every question must be answered and write NONE if the question does not apply to you. Applications must be typed in Black Capital letters; handwritten applications are not accepted. The signature on the application must match the signature on the passport
Invitation Letter
A photocopy of the round trip airline ticket and hotel reservation may be submitted instead of the official invitation from China.
OR
An Invitation Letter for Tourist Group or Invitation Letter for Tourist by a Duly Authorized Tourism Unit, or Invitation Letter issued by companies, corporations, institutions and individuals in China. If the invitation letter is issued by an individual in China, the photocopy of the ID of the individual is required. If the invitation letter is from a Non-Chinese citizen, the ID must be a copy of the valid passport, and a copy of legal status in China is required. If the inviter in China is a relative of the traveler, they must provide legal documentation proving the family relationship, such as a birth or marriage certificate.
A letter of invitation must explain the relationship between the host and the applicant and must include detailed information about the applicant, including full name, gender, date of birth, and passport number. The letter must also state the purpose of visit, where the applicant will stay, and the date of arrival and departure from China. The letter must indicate who will be responsible for the cost of the applicant’s accommodations in China and information about the inviting host: name of the unit or individual, phone number, address, and if applicable, seal and signature of the legal representative.
Business cover letter
The Visa applicant must present an official business letter with his/her application. This business letter must be from the United States sponsoring company or employer’s letterhead and must have an original signature.
The Business Letter should contain the following elements:
The date, the applicant’s name, applicant’s employment credentials, purpose of the trip, duration of stay, purpose of travel, contact and address of the company and location information while staying in the host country In the text of the letter it must state who will be financially responsible for the applicant during his/her stay.
Proof of Departure
Please provide a copy of your airline tickets or the computer generated flight itinerary from your travel agency as proof of your departure. The airline tickets must show round trip travel to China including the return trip.
Other Requirements
Previous Visa
Applicants who have previously traveled to China must provide a copy of the previous Chinese visa. If the visa was issued to a previous passport, a photocopy of the canceled passport’s information page must also be included.
Country of Origin
Applicants of Chinese origin, (born in China), must include a copy of a previous Chinese visa or their last original Chinese passport. Make sure the Chinese Name field is completed on the Chinese visa application form in Chinese characters.
Letter of Employment
An informal letter for applicants who are self-employed addressed to the Chinese Consulate describing information regarding their company.
